Pre-marriage paperwork reminders

Celebrants can add a paperwork reminder to eligible weddings so an outstanding notice or licence is visible before the wedding. This is a tracking tool. Marking it complete does not sign, lodge, or validate a legal document.

Configure the reminder

Open Settings in Wedding Computer and find the pre-marriage paperwork section. It is shown for businesses with the Celebrant category in the Wedding Computer product context.

1. Enable the reminder.
2. Choose a label: NOIM, marriage licence, notice of marriage, or your own wording.
3. Enter the required notice duration and choose days, weeks, or months.
4. Choose the country scope, or all countries where appropriate.
5. Save the settings.

Choose a duration and scope that match your own process and the rules that apply to that wedding. The software does not select the legally correct notice period for every jurisdiction.

Review a wedding

Applicable reminders appear in the wedding workspace and vendor overview with their due date or outstanding state. Check that the wedding date and country information are correct if the result is unexpected. A missing or inapplicable date/country can affect which reminders appear.

The reminder is associated with the celebrant’s work on that wedding. A vendor in another category does not gain completion controls simply because they share the workspace.

Mark complete or reopen

When the paperwork step has actually been completed, use the completion control on its card. Check that the card changes state. If it needs further work, reopen it so it appears outstanding again.

Keep the signed document and any lodgement evidence in the appropriate document workflow. Completion of this reminder is a separate record from NOIM preparation and signing.

If the reminder looks wrong

Review the selected business, Celebrant category, enabled rule, country scope, and wedding date. After a date change, check the resulting paperwork deadline as part of your review.
