Change a wedding date
Changing a wedding with confirmed vendors can require their availability review and an amendment to an existing agreement. The current dates remain in place while the proposal is reviewed.
This is different from changing the time of one timeline item or postponing a wedding without replacement dates.
Propose replacement dates
Section titled “Propose replacement dates”Open the wedding’s Edit wedding details, enter the replacement start date and optional end date, and save. When confirmed vendor commitments require review, the app creates a proposal instead of immediately moving the wedding.
The couple’s edit page shows Waiting for your wedding team, the old and proposed dates, and the vendor responses. A confirmed date cannot simply be cleared while vendors are booked: propose replacement dates instead.
A vendor who can manage the wedding may also initiate a date edit through the vendor workspace. Existing timeline-management approvals can apply to edits by other members. Use the status shown after saving to distinguish a proposal from an applied change.
Vendors: respond to the proposal
Section titled “Vendors: respond to the proposal”Open the wedding and find The couple needs your response. Review the proposed dates, your service dates, and any calendar conflict. Add a Note for the couple, then choose the appropriate action:
- Available on the new dates confirms availability or records acknowledgement, according to the agreement’s date-change policy.
- I need an amendment requests revised terms before proceeding.
- Not available records a conflict that needs resolving with the couple.
The policy may require notification, acknowledgement, availability review, or a contract amendment. The app explains the policy on your response panel. A required amendment cannot be bypassed by selecting available.
For a multi-day wedding, the proposed service dates preserve your position within the wedding’s date range. Check your actual service days, not just the first day of the wedding.
Create and accept an amendment
Section titled “Create and accept an amendment”If an amendment is needed, the vendor adds an Amendment title and Replacement or additional terms, then selects Send amendment for acceptance. Describe the agreed date, scope, and fee changes precisely.
The couple reads the amendment on the edit page, enters their signature name and email, confirms agreement, and selects Sign and accept amendment. Acceptance is recorded with the service agreement. It does not itself collect a changed fee; arrange and record any payment separately with the vendor.
Apply the approved change
Section titled “Apply the approved change”When the required responses and amendments are complete, the couple can select Apply approved date change. The app checks readiness again before changing the dates.
After applying, check the wedding date, each vendor’s service dates, the calendar, and date-dependent timeline items. Notifications of the applied date change are queued for the relevant recipients. Separately arranged appointments or bookings in another system still need your review.
If a vendor is unavailable or a response is outstanding, the proposal remains unresolved. Contact that vendor before treating the new date as confirmed.
Withdraw proposed dates
Section titled “Withdraw proposed dates”A couple member can select Withdraw proposed dates. This closes the proposal and keeps the current wedding dates. You can then propose different dates.
Previous responses and signed amendments remain in the history. Withdrawing a proposal is not deleting that history or cancelling the wedding. Discuss any agreement consequences with the relevant vendor.
