Directory listing

Wedding Computer maintains a public wedding vendor directory at wedding.institute, searchable by couples looking for vendors by category and location. Listing is free and entirely opt-in, and the same listing can be picked up by partner directory products beyond wedding.institute itself — so opting in isn’t just about one site, it’s about being discoverable anywhere those listings get syndicated.

The directory exists to solve inbound discovery: getting found by couples who don’t already know your name. That matters most if you’re a newer or growing business still building a referral network, or if you’re in a competitive category or location where showing up in a location-based search is genuinely how people find you.

If your pipeline is already full from referrals, repeat clients, or other vendors sending you work, a public listing may add little — you can leave it switched off, or opt in anyway as a low-effort extra channel, since there’s no application process or ongoing maintenance cost to it.

Your listing is built from the same profile fields you set on Settings → Business: your business name, categories, operating location, and bio, plus your logo if you’ve uploaded one. Opting in makes your location, bio, logo, and links (website, Instagram) visible outside your account — the directory is one of the few places those fields become public, so keep them business-facing before you switch it on.

Your listing also carries the direct link to your hosted enquiry form, the same link you’d use on your own website or in an email signature. That link is what turns a directory visit into an enquiry.

A couple browsing the directory who clicks through lands on your public enquiry form and submits it exactly as if they’d found that link on your own website. The submission creates or updates a CRM contact, gets logged as an activity, and can trigger your configured notifications — the same pipeline every other enquiry goes through, whether it arrived by direct link, iframe embed, or the lead intake API. It’s also scored by the enquiry quality score (Pro) like any other new lead.

Enquiries reaching you this way are currently recorded with the same Website source as any other direct-link or iframe submission — Wedding Computer doesn’t yet distinguish a directory-driven enquiry from one that arrived via a link you posted elsewhere, so you won’t see a dedicated “Directory” line in source attribution.

Go to Settings → Directory and check List my business in the public directory. There’s no application process — it’s a straightforward toggle, and you can switch it off again at any time.

Make sure your location is set in your profile first — the directory surfaces vendors by location, so without one you won’t turn up in location-based searches even if you’re opted in.
