Every vendor account includes a built-in email inbox — a real address you can send and receive from, without leaving Wedding Computer. It’s entirely optional: you’re welcome to keep using your existing email address for everything, and nothing about your account requires the built-in inbox.
Your Wedding Computer address
Section titled “Your Wedding Computer address”Go to Settings → Email and claim a handle. Your address becomes:
yourhandle@wedding.computerHandles are lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens, at least 3 characters, first come first served. A handful of names are reserved and can’t be claimed.
Why mail comes from wedding.computer, not your own domain
Section titled “Why mail comes from wedding.computer, not your own domain”Wedding Computer doesn’t send email as your personal or business address — every message, whether it’s a system notification or one you write yourself, goes out from Wedding Computer’s own domain.
Why: having an app send mail that claims to be you@yourbusiness.com — without your domain’s own SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records backing it up — is one of the fastest ways for that mail to land in spam. By sending from a domain it fully controls and authenticates, Wedding Computer keeps deliverability high for every vendor on the platform. Your replies still show your name, and couples reply straight back into your Wedding Computer inbox.
If you’d rather send from your own domain with your own authentication set up, that’s completely fine — just use your regular email client instead of the built-in inbox for that correspondence. The CRM, invoicing, and workspace features all work the same either way; the built-in inbox is an optional convenience, not a requirement.
Using the inbox
Section titled “Using the inbox”Go to Emails in the sidebar. It’s split into two tabs:
- Inbox — mail sent to your handle, most recent first. Unread messages are bolded with a dot marker.
- Sent — mail you’ve sent from Wedding Computer.
Click Compose to start a new message, or open any email to Reply. Replies are threaded automatically.
How incoming mail is linked to contacts
Section titled “How incoming mail is linked to contacts”When mail arrives at your handle, Wedding Computer checks whether the sender’s address authenticates properly (a DMARC pass) before matching it to an existing contact in your CRM. If it matches, the email shows up on that contact’s record alongside their notes, invoices, and activity history — one place for everything you know about that couple. Mail that doesn’t authenticate is still stored in your inbox, just not automatically linked to a contact.
Notifications
Section titled “Notifications”Incoming mail is stored, marked unread, and counted in the Emails sidebar badge. Wedding Computer does not currently send a separate new-mail notification to your login address, so check the inbox or its badge rather than relying on an email alert.
Every inbound message is automatically sent through a Cloudflare Workers AI spam classifier using the sender, subject, and up to 1,500 characters of body text. The result is only a label/filter aid: the message is stored even when classified as spam, and classifier failure leaves it visible as normal.
AI-assisted replies
Section titled “AI-assisted replies”Instead of starting a reply from a blank page, you can generate a first draft from everything Wedding Computer already knows about that couple — turning a five-minute writing task into a quick review-and-send. It’s built for exactly the replies that eat up your day: following up on an enquiry, letting someone down gently when you’re not available for their date, or referring them on to another vendor.
AI drafting is available from a CRM contact record, not from an opened inbox thread. Open the contact and choose Draft email to generate a response from the contact details, wedding date and location, pipeline status, notes, and availability context. The current draft does not include the inbox thread history. You always review and edit it before sending. See AI features & integrations for the full picture, including the optional auto-reply feature for new enquiries.
